ABOUT MEMENTALES
The idea
Mementales began with a single book. For my daughter's first birthday, I wanted to gift her something truly personal. A book made just for her. I searched everywhere, hoping to find a story that felt one of a kind. Not a name placed into a template, but a story shaped by my own feelings and written only for her.
What I imagined was a book so personal that no other copy could ever exist. A story that belonged only to her. Not just a bedtime story, but something that could become part of her memories as she grows.
We all have someone we love deeply, yet often struggle to find the right words to express it. I believe love and emotion should never stay unspoken. A book allows those feelings to live beyond a moment. Something that can be held, read, and returned to again and again, carrying the same words, the same meaning, every time.

Mementales is a blend of two words: Memento and Tales.

How mementales came to be
In 2022, the idea of creating a truly personalised book led me to speak with several illustrators, designers, and writers. It became clear that creating books with this level of care would be slow, costly, and limited in how deeply personal they could be.
Today, thoughtful use of technology allows us to do better. At Mementales, creative tools help us explore ideas, but every book is shaped and refined by human designers. Each illustration goes through multiple rounds to ensure consistency, emotion, and care across the entire story.
Nothing is automated end to end. Every book is reviewed, refined, and finished by people who care deeply about the story being told.
